Blood Donor Challenge
April 15th to September 9th, 2010
In 2009, 6,336 participants visited blood donor clinics throughout the city, and 669 new donors gave blood, plasma or platelets. Each donation can improve or save up to three lives, meaning that this year we have benefited over 20,000 people! Since 2000, the Blood Donor Challenge has had over 6,336 donations!
Employees, family & friends can help build Canada's blood supply by participating in the Calgary Corporate Blood Donor Challenge. A plaque will be awarded to the company in each division that logs the largest number of blood donors over the four-month period. Companies will receive 2 points for participating, and points will be added to your overall score for 1st - 6th place. This event is not restricted to employees. Therefore, blood donations by family and friends will count for your company.
