Get in the Games
Calgary Corporate Challenge: Sept 10th - 25th, 2010
The 2010 Calgary Corporate Challenge will take place from September 10th - 25th, in the evenings and on weekends. Each company competes in one of five "Complete" Corporate Challenge divisions (determined by the number of employees within each company), or in the "Mini" Challenge (a smaller division that allows companies to play in 10 out of the 21 events).
Why is there a Waitlist and how does it work?
Due to time and venue constraints, Calgary Corporate Challenge can register approximately 180 companies each year. Companies who participated the previous year get first right to their spot for the following year's Games; however, each year a small number of spots open up in the Complete Games.
In April, CCC holds a Registration Lottery and typically 10 spots become available. Companies who are drawn join the Mini Challenge for their first year and have the opportunity to move into the Full Games the following year (depending on availability). After a year in the Mini Challenge, teams may have the option to move up into the full Games.
This 2010 Registration Lottery was held on Tuesday, April 13th and 17 new companies were drawn for spots in the Mini Challenge.
If you don't want to leave your company's Corporate Challenge participation to the luck of the draw, there is another way for your company to guarantee their involvement in the Games. Companies who become sponsors will receive a host of marketing and promotional benefits and they will bypass the Waitlist and Mini Challenge, getting a spot in the Complete Games, with access to all of the 21 events.
