CCC General Information
Each September, employees, managers and volunteers from Calgary's business community take part in the Calgary Corporate Challenge - and the results are phenomenal.
Calgary Corporate Challenge is a professionally run, volunteer driven, Olympic-style event developed by Calgary's business community for Calgary's business community. It was patterned after enormously successful games in Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, and Edmonton. Now entering its fourteenth year in 2009, with over 18,000 participants from 170+ companies, the Calgary Corporate Challenge is one of the largest annual, amateur, athletic event in Canada!
Corporate Challenge provides exciting, healthy activities for employees in the spirit of fun and friendly competition. Although the medals, plaques and lead crystal trophies are beautiful, the true reward of Corporate Challenge is the team building, company pride and spirit displayed by participants and volunteers. In addition to the morale boost within companies, a number of local charities benefit to the tune of over $700,000 annually via several special events held during the Games.
The competitions and special events take place over two weeks in September - in the evenings and on weekends. Each company competes in one of five "Complete" Corporate Challenge divisions (determined by the number of employees within each company), or in the "Mini" Challenge (a scaled down version of the Complete Corporate Challenge).
In 2007, Calgary Corporate Challenge was named Best Corporate Team Building event in Canada by the Canadian Event Industry Star Awards.
