You'll love Urban Orienteering taking place throughout Calgary's streets and avenues. This event will test intellect and physical limits so come prepared.

Please Note: This is considered an athletic event. Teams who would like to be competitive should anticipate a significant amount of running.
Individual medals will be awarded to members of the 1st, 2nd & 3rd place teams in each division.

- City & orienteering maps
Players Responsible For:
- 2 cell phones
- 2 compasses
- Appropriate clothing for the weather
- $/person for use of public transportation
- Ruler or straight edge
- Highlighter
Urban Orienteering Lite - Practise sessions for CCC Urban Orienteering Teams
Dates: Thurs Aug 5 and Tues Sept 7 (day after Labour Day). The identical event will be held on 2 separate dates to give teams more flexibility on which one to attend. Some companies may chose to use the Aug 5 event as their team try-outs, which we can facilitate.
Location: Park in public lot just NE of the intersection of 11 Ave and 12 St SE in Inglewood. We will be just north of the lot. A map is here: http://tinyurl.com/UrboLite2010
Cost: $10 per person which includes a membership in the local orienteering club, providing further opportunities to practise orienteering on Wednesday nights for just $5 per map (see www.orienteeringcalgary.ca for schedule). If you are already a member, then we will charge only $5. All participants must sign a waiver/membership form, available when they arrive, or downloadable here.
Registration: From 6-6:45PM, immediately followed by instructions. The event is structured for teams of 4 (2 groups of 2) but team sizes of 2-5 are fine. We can help singles be matched with incomplete teams.
All teams must RSVP to urban@calgarycoroporatechallenge.com their intention to participate in either event date, preferably by noon of the preceding day. Info must include: Company Name; Captain Name; email; cell phone; and total number of team members.
Event: 7-8PM. All rules will be explained immediately prior to the the start. It will include puzzle & orienteering challenges, very similar to the Sept 25 CCC event.
Post Event: There will be an opportunity to meet afterward at a local establishment for refreshments and to swap war stories. Results will be available at 8:30PM.
