CCC Idol / Midway Party
We have reached the half-way mark, it's time to party!
Come down to Flames Central and see our twenty-five finalists perform jamaoke (karaoke
with a live band) with Matt Beatty and The Hot Tamales. Watch in anticipation as the Calgary Celebrity Judges announce winners for Best Vocals, Best Showmanship and Best Overall Performance.
Participants interested in competing at the Midway Party must attend one of the Preliminary sessions on August 21 or 22 at the Pig & Whistle in Beddington .

Important Criteria
- Your entry can only consist of 1 or 2 singers unless the song warrants an entire group (Ex: The Village People)
- These singers must work for your company
- You can only have one act per company
- This event is strictly for fun - there will not be any points awarded
- Participants are not allowed to play musical instruments
- Finalists will be selected at the preliminaries based upon vocals, costume, crowd noise and overall performance. Matt Beatty and the Hot Tamales will be judging at the preliminaries and selecting all finalists
- Participants must choose a song from the list provided
Preliminaries
The CCC Idol Preliminaries are a ton of fun to come out and watch whether your company is participating or not.
Finalists will be selected at the preliminaries based upon vocals, costume, crowd noise and overall performance. Matt Beatty and the Hot Tamales will be judging and selecting all finalists. Finalists will be competing at the CCC Idol/Midway Party on Friday, September 13th.
Preliminaries Details:
Location: Pig & Whistle Pub in Beddington (8120 Beddington Blvd NW, Calgary, AB T3K 3V9)
Dates: August 21 & 22
Time: 7:00pm - 10:00pm
*There is a maximum number of participants per night so please sign-up as soon as possible.
**Dates are subject to cancellation if 10 to 15 singers are not scheduled each night.

Please send in your song choice when you register for the preliminaries.
Please Note: Jamaoke (Karaoke to a band) is slightly different from traditional Karaoke. There will not be a monitor for you to read from, you will be given the song lyrics in a paper format.
Practice Sessions
At this time there are no practice sessions scheduled before the preliminaries. However; if your company is interested in holding it's own Corporate Idol Try-Outs (to determine who will compete in the CCC Idol within your organization) please contact Matt Beatty at matt@highnote.biz for further information.
Post-Preliminaries Practice Sessions
For those who are selected as finalists for CCC Idol/Midway Party, a practice session will be held. The practice is not mandatory. The date and location will be sent out closer to September.
Matt Beatty and the Hot Tamales
Matt Beatty and the Hot Tamales are Calgary's hottest band and one of its top draws. The group features fantastic vocals with both male and female leads and an amazing song selection. Performances include anything and everything from Johnny Cash to Cello Green and ACDC to Joni Mitchell.
