Volunteers Role: Course Marshal (Urban Orienteering)
Purpose
To ensure participants follow the correct route and adhere to the course rules at the Urban Orienteering Event.
Tasks
- Look out for the health and safety of the participants.
- Become familiar with the event rules.
- Monitor check-in points along the course.
- Direct participants so that they keep on course.
- Provide encouragement and support to participants.
- Due to the nature of this role, we ask that volunteers DO NOT bring along children.
- Please bring a lawn chair and a book or magazine for slow time.
- Please dress appropriately for the weather as this volunteer assignment will be outdoors.
