Between Friends
New to the Charity Challenge?
At Between Friends, we focus on abilities, not disabilities!
Between Friends provides quality social, recreation, and development opportunities so that people with disabilities can connect, grow, and belong. Through our wide offerings we aim to create safe and supportive environments for people with disabilities to engage with their peers, have fun and learn skills, not only in our programs but in the community as well! We endeavour to increase the community's awareness, positive attitudes, and sensitivity towards their fellow citizens with disabilities.

This opportunity is ONLY AVAILABLE to companies who have not done a lunch and learn in the past due to the duplicity of the material. We will nudge you towards the Option 2 if you sign up and have already completed a lunch and learn with us in the last two years.

Option 2: Learning Module
This learning module is based on the values and practices of Between Friends and the TED Talk “The Autism Spectrum Isn’t What You Think It Is” by Chloé Hayden. In her talk, Chloé Hayden challenges common stereotypes about autism and explains why autism should be understood as a spectrum of diverse experiences, not a single story or a problem to be fixed. She highlights the importance of listening to autistic voices, valuing lived experience, and creating spaces where people feel accepted, understood, and able to be themselves. After the module, they will be required to complete a short quiz.
Minimum of 10 quiz submissions to receive this point.

- Casual Dress Days: Ask employees to donate $5–$10 to dress casually for a day or week. With broad participation, this adds up quickly.
- Office Bake Sale or Snack Bar: Homemade treats, coffee, or snack packs are always popular and can raise significant funds in a short time.
- Team Challenges: Host a step challenge, trivia contest, or desk-to-desk competition with entry fees and prizes for top performers.
- Matching Gift Drive: Encourage leadership to match employee donations to quickly boost total funds raised.
- Silent Auction: Auction off donated items, experiences, or even “perks” like an extra vacation day or preferred parking spot.
- Raffle or Prize Draw: Collect small prizes or gift cards from staff or local businesses and sell tickets throughout the office.*
With just a little creativity and teamwork, your office can make a meaningful impact while reaching the $500 fundraising goal.
